Experimental floral design's start of studies is drawing near

Experimental floral design is a new, international vocational programme starting at Vea in the autumn of 2012. The plans for the school year is coming together and we have enough students to begin the programme.

Siv Engen Heimdahl and Runi Kristoffersen are the main teachers of the programme. In addition we will hire guest lecturers within some of the subjects taught in the programme. As this is an international programme, a lot of the lessons will be taught in English. Assignments will be given in both Norwegian and English.

All students will meet up for the first session at Vea on Monday, 20 August at 12.30. You will be given a lot of practical information about the school and the school year. All students will visit "De utenkte tankers tårn" ("The tower of unthinkable thoughts"), where one is challenged to think anew. The theme for this session will be Communication and experimenting with plant materials.

The second session is also at Vea. We will drive up to the mountains, where the students will get to know materials such as lichen and moss, and further using these materials in different arrangements.

The third session takes place in Malmö, Sweden; Ingvar Strandhs Flowerschool to be exact. The theme of this session is "Project Organization and Management".

The fourth session is back at Vea, where we will work with "Idea and Concept Development".

During the spring semester we plan to have a session abroad, most likely Italy or Austria, but this is something the students will help decide.

For those of you already admitted as a student at Experimental floral design, you will find more detailed informasjon about the study sessions at our learning platform It's learning.

We're looking forward to the start of studies!
